چکیده

We report the results of the presently lowest frequency spectral line survey of the asymptotic giant branch carbon star IRC+10 216. The entire Arecibo C band (4–6 GHz) was observed with a noise level of 0.3 mJy (1 ). We report the detection of HC5N (J 1⁄4 2 1), which is the lowest frequency transition of the HC5N molecule found in the envelope of IRC +10 216. The HC5N J 1⁄4 2 column density derived from our observations confirms the presence of two temperature components in the molecular envelope of IRC +10 216. The HC5N J 1⁄4 2 1 transition traces the cold molecular component characterized by an excitation temperature of 13.8 K. We derive upper limits for several transitions of molecules that had previously been detected in IRC +10 216 at higher frequencies. We also report the frequency ranges in the Arecibo C band that were affected by radio frequency interference. The dynamical evolution of the fragmented , bipolar dust shell around the carbon star IRC + 10 216 ⋆ Rapid changes of a PPN - like structure ?

We present high–resolution J–, H–, and K–band observations and the first H − K color image of the carbon star IRC +10 216. The images were reconstructed from 6 m telescope speckle interferograms using the bispectrum speckle interferometry method. The H and K images with resolutions between 70 mas and 92 mas consist of several compact components within a 0. ′′2 radius and a fainter asymmetric ne...

New peculiar CO data of the shell around IRC + 10216

A CO(1-0) on-source spectrum of the well-known carbon star IRC +10 216 taken with the IRAM 30m telescope in June 1996 shows excess emission between –18.3 and –14.3 km s −1 at the red wing of the underlying profile. The excess emission is confirmed in January 1997 but is absent in April 1997 and June 1998 IRAM spectra. Such a transient feature has not been seen before in this star or any other A...

3D Classification of Urban Features Based on Integration of Structural and Spectral Information from UAV Imagery

Three-dimensional classification of urban features is one of the important tools for urban management and the basis of many analyzes in photogrammetry and remote sensing. Therefore, it is applied in many applications such as planning, urban management and disaster management. In this study, dense point clouds extracted from dense image matching is applied for classification in urban areas. Appl...

Resolving the asymmetric inner wind region of the yellow hypergiant IRC +10420 with VLTI/AMBER in low and high spectral resolution mode

Context. IRC+10420 is a massive evolved star belonging to the group of yellow hypergiants. Currently, this star is rapidly evolving through the Hertzprung-Russell diagram, crossing the so-called yellow void. IRC+10420 is suffering from intensive mass loss which led to the formation of an extended dust shell. Moreover, the dense stellar wind of IRC+10420 is subject to strong line emission. Aims....

Submillimeter Narrow Emission Lines from the Inner Envelope of Irc+10216

A spectral-line survey of IRC+10216 in the 345 GHz band has been undertaken with the Submillimeter Array. Although not yet completed, it has already yielded a fairly large sample of narrow molecular emission lines with line-widths indicating expansion velocities of ∼4 km s, less than 3 times the well-known value of the terminal expansion velocity (14.5 km s) of the outer envelope. Five of these...
